FELIPE BRITO

LEAD INSTRUCTOR

Currently working towards a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Trombone Performance at The University of Texas at Austin under Dr. Nathaniel Brickens, Felipe Brito is the Principal Trombonist for The San Marcos Artists’ Retention and Training Orchestra.

Previously, Felipe served as the Principal Trombonist for the Cleveland Opera Theater and Substitute Trombone for the Canton Symphony Orchestra, Erie Philharmonic, Cleveland Pops Orchestra, Firelands Symphony, Youngstown Symphony, and Mansfield Symphony. A testament to his passion, skill, and versatility, Felipe has collaborated with Branford Marsalis, Robin Eubanks, Raul de Souza, Joe Lovano, Jorge Santana, Bobby Sanabria, Eddie Montalvo, Tito Rojas, and several other musicians.

Felipe currently serves as the brass instructor at the Texas music nonprofit Austin Soundwaves and works as the lead instructor and arts administrator at The Caribbean Arts Camp and as a brass instructor at The Roberto Ocasio Latin Jazz Camp. During his free time, he loves to spend time with his wife Elizabeth.
